Engineered Garments looked more correct than ever

Since 1999, Engineered Garments has always been a few steps ahead of the wider world of menswear. Designer Daiki Suzuki focuses on American fashion, including practical clothing, sturdy sportswear, and smart suits rethought with unexpected patterns, cuts, and textures. In recent seasons, more labels and designers are embracing the wild edge of menswear, depending on the number of men trying to take advantage of more effervescent dresses. And suddenly, Engineered Garments feels like a pioneer in American fashion in New Wave. This is the label that many others are trying to catch. And they realized they were there just by doing the same things they had been doing for years.

Like many earlier, the latest Engineered Garments collection incorporates the essential pillars of modern menswear and cleverly fills them all in the middle. If you want to be the most fly fishing in the world, the label will cover you. A well-dressed Ivy League professor from the Wes Anderson movie? You covered. An art curator on the way out of town to a rural apple orchard? check.

Engineered Garments offers clothing that easily weaves into the genres of workwear, suits and sportswear. That is, there are plenty of sharp blazer and textured jackets, work shirts and cozy flannel, dressy trousers and tactical trousers. Each work is relentlessly made. The result is a collection packed with clothing that will surely appeal to all types of advanced dressers.

Some are more accessible, such as woolen trousers with a chunky fit and button-up shirts in familiar fabrics. But they are never boring. The button-up is made of micro sand twill and features contrasting size and shape pockets. Take a step deeper and you’ll find classic flannel trapping and mashed-up cardigan sweaters. Surprisingly delicate flowers are stabbed in the highly practical racing suit. And the wildest edges are the leopard jacquard vest, the wool popovers adorned with ornate paisley swirls, and the safety orange and navy buttoned shawls.
