died September 18, 2021 in Seattle Washington. Born in Hartford in February of 1937 to Adolph and Alice (Chester) Korper, Kip attended Beach Park, Kingswood (1955) and Amherst, enlisting in the Air Force and receiving his Lieutenant bars in 1960. In his 28-year career as a pilot in the Air Force, Kip flew everything from reconnaissance missions to combat rescue on HH53C Jolly Greens in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force in 1988, Kip flew and trained pilots for Boeing until June of this year. He leaves to mourn him, his sons, Kent, Kevin and Keath; his grandchildren, Kasey, Clark, and Kristopher Korper, Heather and Heath Valenty, and Travis Field; his sisters, Cynthia Porter (Lt. Col. John G. “Jack” Porter) and Candace Killian (Robert K. Killian, Jr.). Kip was predeceased by his daughter Margaret Kathleen and his grandson Kristopher Robin Korper. Military services are to be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery on October 7. Kip will be missed by all, his family, friends, Habitat for Humanity and Americorps volunteers, students (skeet, water skiing, fly fishing, pilots) and vehicles restored to working order. His was an extraordinary life, well lived.
