Mary “Barbara” Marinos, 85

April 5, 1937 – May 14, 2022

Mary “Barbara” Marinos, age 85, passed away on May 14, 2022, at the Great Falls Clinic hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cascade United Methodist Church in Cascade, MT. Barbara was born on April 5, 1937, to Fred Bechtold and Mary Monica Wills Bechtold in Livingston, MT. The family moved to Portland, OR for a period of time and then moved back to Butte, MT where she spent her youth. Barbara graduated from Butte High School in 1995 and went on to graduate from Eastern Washington University, Cheney, WA in 1960 with a degree in Education. She married her husband Charles “Chuck” Gus Marinos at Mountain View Church in Butte, MT on August 12, 1963. They moved to Modesto, CA where Barb taught 7th and 8th grade English and Social Studies at the Sylvan Union School District. She spent her teaching career nurturing the students at that school district until her retirement. Barb had happy childhood memories of taking the trolley and attending the dances at the Columbia Gardens in Butte, MT. Barb and Chuck loved taking cruises. They took 11 cruises in total. After retiring they moved to Cascade, MT for a few years while Chuck worked as a fly-fishing guide. They purchased a home in Apache Junction, AZ where they spent their winters and spent their summers in Cascade. Barb and Chuck loved to fly fish and made some wonderful memories fishing on the Bighole and the Missouri Rivers.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Charles Marinos of Great Falls, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Monica Wills Bechtold; and brothers: Robert Bechtold and Clifford Hatton.
