Thanks for returning to this column about local September 17th events.

Canceled a standing Saturday golf date to enjoy these festivities that span Mercer County.

Let’s start this trip on the Delaware River as the 4th annual Trenton River Days delivers a day of fun.

This free event celebrates the history, culture, and recreational benefits of the Delaware River. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. local families and community members are invited to South Riverwalk Park near the Trenton Thunder Stadium to enjoy this popular party.

The event will feature canoe and boat rides, free food, live music, hayrides, fly fishing demonstrations, crafts, and other outdoor enjoyment. This in-person event includes educational games and exhibits and hands-on action.

The Watershed staff will have large tanks filled with varieties of fish that inhabit the Delaware River.

As water availability and water quality identify as major topics, Watershed staff and volunteers will discuss conditions of local waterways.

Trenton River Days showcases partnerships of The Watershed Institute, Mercer County Park Commission, Tulpehaking Nature Center, Friends for the Abbott Marshlands, The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River, Mercer County, ArtWorks, and the City of Trenton.
