Trout Unlimited’s 14th annual Fly Fishing Film Tour, which usually plays to sold-out crowds at the Colonial Theatre, Phoenixville, will be held virtually this year, running from 7 p.m. Thursday through 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.
Tickets are available at flyfilmtour.com for $18 for individuals or $30 for a family or household pass.
Purchasing a ticket will grant you access to 11 films that embody the spirit of fly fishing through cinematic tales of conservation, education and adventure, from local rivers to far-flung destinations.
In “Common Tread” from Thrive Visuals, fly fishing is the glue that holds several generations of a Texas family together through the loss of a beloved family member. The recovery of the Gunnison River from whirling disease, told in “Project Rainbow” from Hog Leg Fly Fishing, is the story of how a dedicated group of anglers and researchers saved one the West’s great fisheries for the next generation. “Time” from Fly Lords profiles Lefty Kreh and Flip Pallot, who both taught and inspired thousands of anglers.
Other films are “Machaca — A Botanical Tale,” “Expectations,” “Baja Lines,” “DOWNUNDER — Tassie to Cape,” “Hank Patterson’s Guide School,” “Cosmoledo Junkie,” “Whitewater” and “Relentless Pursuit.”
