Ultimately, the series will serve as a sort of encyclopedia of tying skills that will be a valuable resource for anyone who sits down at a vise to create a fly.
If you’re going to be a fly tier, you’re going to need some tools, but which ones? Here, Tim explains which tools he deems absolutely essential, from a selection of scissors to whip-finishers, to a caddy to hold everything in place. You don’t have to buy everything at once, of course, but you don’t want to be stuck trying to create patterns without the proper tools for the job.
