Get ready to start high in the Rockies and go up from there at Copper Mountain on August 6.
Outside Events Cycling Series, formerly Roll Massif, is bringing the 16th annual Copper Triangle ride back to Summit County on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Copper Triangle is part of nine Colorado-based cycling events hosted by Outside Events, a part of Outside Inc.
A Colorado cycling classic, Copper Triangle is graced with breathtaking scenery, gorgeous roads, and three climbs over 10,000 feet. The 79-mile loop begins at Copper Mountain Resort and incorporates three Colorado mountain passes — Fremont Pass (Elev. 11,318’), Tennessee Pass (Elev. 10,424’), and Vail Pass (Elev. 10,662’) — for a total elevation gain of 6,500 feet. This road ride is littered with historic mining outposts including Camp Hale, the training ground for the famous 10th Mountain Division. New to the ride this year is a friendly QOM & KOM over Vail Pass. On this timed segment, you’ll be able to race your friends, the pros, and the clock. Podium presentations will take place for the top three women and men after the ride.
This year, Copper Triangle is excited to welcome professional rider Aliya Tyus-Barnwell. Cyclists will have a chance to ride along with Ms.Tyus-Barnwell and challenge themselves to gain a new PR time.
Riders and spectators are encouraged to stick around after the ride for the Alpine Celebration and lunch. Enjoy live entertainment and a beer garden, while checking out the latest cycling gear, accessories, and products. Friends and family can enjoy the exhibits while you’re out on the course — the expo is open during the ride.
Copper Triangle is thrilled to be supporting the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’sagain as one of its most important fundraising events. Since 2006, registration fees and fundraising efforts tied to Copper Triangle have resulted in more than $1.5 million for the foundation. Founded in 2004, the Davis Phinney Foundation has brought to life some of the most important programs, research, content, and events for those affected by Parkinson’s. Their community includes people living with Parkinson’s, Parkinson’s care partners, families and friends of those living with Parkinson’s, physicians, and Parkinson’s allied health professionals.
