Myra S. Noll, 66, Livingston, MT, formerly of Grayling, died July 4, 2022, at home, with her family by her side.

A memorial service will be held in Grayling at a date yet to be determined. Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, Livingston, MT, handled the cremation.

She was born Feb. 8, 1956, in Columbus, OH, but her family moved to Mansfield, OH, when she was three years old. She attended Richland County schools and graduated from Malabar High School in 1974.

She was deeply influenced by the social changes happening in the 1960s and 70s and embraced a lifestyle of social consciousness, environmental awareness, organic gardening and holistic health. This led Kathryn, her baby sister, to respectfully nickname her, ”The Original Granola Girl” and “Hippie Chick.”

She eventually moved to Grayling, to raise her sons, Tom Mason and Chip Mason, in a place where they could enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities such as fly fishing, canoeing, hiking, camping, skiing and snowboarding. She was a fiercely dedicated mother, making sure her boys were well cared for, well educated and well rounded.

She also took time to continue her own education in the (then burgeoning) field of computer science. She loved to read, was creative and artistic, stayed abreast of world affairs and even became involved in local politics.

She worked as a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 25 years and, upon retirement, she followed in her sons’ footsteps and moved to Livingston, MT, where she continued to enjoy the outdoors and time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, Tom (Ri) Mason and Chip Mason, both of Livingston, MT; grandchildren, Nola Mason and Hudson Mason; brother, Grey Wilson of Livingston, MT; two sisters, Diana Wilson of Magnolia, AR, and Kathryn Henthorn of Jacksonville, FL; as well as a nephew, Jeff (Eve) Thompson; and niece, Karen (Adam) Lewis, both of Waldo, AR.
