The property has been operating as a boutique motel with 10 units, each with an eclectic retro design. Located in Mount Tremper, New York, just outside Woodstock and about two hours from New York City, it could also serve as a compound for a large family or group of friends.

“Kate’s Lazy Meadow has been a labor of love for both me and my wife, Monica [Coleman],” Ms. Pierson, 73, said via email. “It’s truly special and each room has been carefully and personally curated by Monica and me. It will be sold with all the retro-modern furnishings and decor, including some really amazing artwork.”

The cabins also have fully functional retro kitchens and cozy living rooms, she added.

“The real magic happens by the ‘Lazy Meadow,’ down amongst the tall pines and blue spruce by the free-flowing Esopus Creek. Sit around the campfire down there, and you’ll know what relaxing really means,” said Ms. Pierson, who was one of the founding members of The B-52s, a new wave band known for hits like “Love Shack” and “Roam.”

Esopus Creek is a popular spot for fly fishing and tubing, and offers a complete retreat into nature, according to listing agent Elizabeth Peters of Heather Croner Real Estate at Sotheby’s International Realty.

“There’s this dichotomy in the setting,” Ms. Peters said. “You have these really cool, 1950s cabins with retro-style decor, and you also have this totally peaceful, calm and beautiful land by the water where you can’t even hear a pin drop.”

The decor was also inspired by the ceramic work of area artists, according to the listing, and there’s a Japanese-style hot spa and fire pit with views of the creek and the Catskills Mountains.

Ms. Pierson purchased the property in 2001 for $210,000, according to PropertyShark records. Her wife, a ceramic and jewelry artist, “has been the one really running the business for the last 18 years,” she said. They also operate Kate’s Lazy Desert, a self-serve campground with six Airstream campers in California’s Mohave Desert.

The couple are moving on so they can focus on their artistic endeavors, Ms. Pierson explained. For her, that includes a second solo album and “some big plans” with The B-52s.

“We’ve enjoyed the property as our own little ‘love shack,’” she said. “We hope to pass the baton to someone who can use this unique property to its full potential, as a wedding venue or as a family-and-friends compound.”
