SAN RAFAEL

Bust nabs suspected
dealer, cache of drugs

Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 29-year-old Oakland man they believe has been selling methamphetamine in Marin, seizing a massive assortment of suspected drugs in the process, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.

Cristian Diaz-Villatoro was arrested Tuesday on Shoreline Parkway in San Rafael after an undercover detective arranged to buy more than 12 ounces of meth from him, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Brenton Schneider.

Besides 143 grams of suspected meth, Diaz-Villatoro had 44 grams of suspected cocaine, 173 grams of suspected heroin, 30 suspected Xanax pills, 200 30-milligram oxycodone pills and a digital scale, Schneider said.

Diaz-Villatoro also had 2.57 pounds of what investigators believe to be fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, Schneider said.

A Marin County judge also signed off on a search warrant for Diaz-Villatoro’s home in Oakland, where detectives found $3,000 in cash, Schneider said.

Diaz-Villatoro was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of drug-related offenses and held in lieu of a $150,000 bail.
