LANCASTER — Superstars of the fly-fishing world including Joe Humphreys, Gary Borger, George Daniel and Tim Flagler are featured at the Lancaster Fly Fishing Show, Saturday and Sunday at the Lancaster County Convention Center, 3 East Vine St., Lancaster.

The newest gadgets and tools — along with dream vacation destinations that make fly fishing the sport it is — will be on display for the first time locally at the tenth annual Lancaster event.

The convention center will play host to all things fly-fishing — for beginners to seasoned veterans — with seminars, casting demonstrations, fly-tying, destination films, Fly Fishing Film Festival, artwork, personal watercraft and clothing in the exhibition hall. There will be nearly 15 presentations per hour.

Fly Fishing Show admission is $15 for one day, $25 for two days. Children 5 and under are free, as are Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts under 16 and in uniform. Children 6 to 12 are $5. Active military with an ID is $10.

Some $30,000 in national Fly Fishing Show door prizes are up for grabs highlighted by a $9,000 value trip to the Blue Horizon Lodge in Belize, plus other travel packages in domestic and international locations, as well as other prizes.

There will be 13 classes with experts for a fee. Classes include The Perfect Cast with Borger, Coffee and Questions with Joe Humphreys, Tactics 2.0 With Daniel, Flies for Swinging with Flagler, Euro-Nymphing with Tim Cammisa, Introduction to Fly Fishing for Women with Diane Tidy, and Practical Nymphing with Ed Engle. Fly Fishers International will host a free learning center with casting, fly-tying, knot tying, rigging and choosing a fly.

Other presentations include Back to Basics Fly Fishing, Fly Fishing the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, Fly Fishing Chilean Patagonia, Spring Creeks – Cracking the Code, Smallmouth Bass on the Fly, The Heritage of Angling, Tenkara: Fixed Line Fly Fishing, Labrador: Land Where the King Still Reigns, Atlantic Salmon on the Big River, and Patagonia: A Fly Fisher’s Bucket List.

Seminars include programs on Tactics for Lake Erie Tributaries, Smallmouth Bass Top to Bottom, Reading Waters, New Jersey Striped Bass Blitzes, Simple Dries for Selective Trout, 25 Ways to Elevate Your Trout Game, Today’s Nymph Fisher, and A Pennsylvania Fly Box: Fly Patterns for Success. There are 10 hour-long seminars each day.
