Fishing Tackle Unlimited, deemed the largest tackle shop in the world, according to the company, is hosting an Inshore Fishing Expo on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a lot is going on.

The event will include three seminars from leading professionals in the industry, food trucks and live entertainment. The first 100 customers will receive a swag bag, marketing coordinator Lawren Garza said. “Vendors from (our) store all pitched in and donated a gift for the swag bag giveaway, and there’s a lot of cool stuff in it -totaling over $100 in merchandise.”

The event will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a seminar from Captain Wayne Davis and Captain Ernest Cisneros, both noted as fishing legends of the Lower Laguna Madre and the Empty Stringers Program, according to the event flier. Davis and Cisneros will present their trophy trout and snook tactics when fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Following Laguna Madre legends, Chris Bush from  “The Speckled Truth Podcast” will take the stage at 11:45 a.m. Bush will take a deep dive into lure selection and his journeys and pursuit of prized speckled trout.

Captain Jay Watkins will speak at the event at 1 p.m. and highlight his fishing strategies and expertise along the southern region of the Gulf Coast from Rockport to Port Mansfield. As a 42 veteran in the fishing industry, Watkins will teach his targeting approach for reeling in speckled trout.

The expo will also host live fly fishing tying, and food trucks such as Outriggers, Cousins Maine Lobster and more. The expo will also feature live entertainment from musical guest Daniel Holmes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with adult beverages served on-site.

The Inshore Fishing Expo will be held at the Fishing Tackle Unlimited location at 12800 Gulf Freeway in Houston. For additional information, visit the Fishing Tackle Unlimited website online.
