The Fly Fishers of Davis will hear from Captain Stacy Lynn on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Stonegate Country Club and via Zoom webinar. Lynn will discuss the particulars of fly fishing year-round in Texas’ dynamic bays and nearshore saltwater lakes, flats, shorelines and marshes.

The species, the seasons, the locations, the gear and the tactics are all covered by Captain Stacy Lynn who has 20-plus years of focused fly fishing and guiding experience all up and down the expansive Lone Star State coastline.

Lynn has been an avid saltwater and freshwater fly angler since 1995. She is a Fly Fishers Intl. certified instructor, a graduate of Joan Wulff’s Fly Fishing Instructor’s School and a TPWD Licensed Saltwater Fly Fishing Guide in the Rockport/Corpus Christi area. She has been a featured speaker, demonstrator and instructor at numerous events and has been working in the fly fishing industry for more than 25 years.

Her favorite fly fishing endeavor is sight casting in saltwater, especially to redfish from her own poling skiff, and tarpon and permit in tropical destinations. Her instruction specialties are conducting casting diagnostics, and helping fly casters prepare for the Saltwater Fly Fishing experience. Her business, WOW Fly Fishing, is dedicated to the experiences, education and business of fly fishing.

The Fly Fishers of Davis meet on the last Tuesday of the month. Currently, the club meetings are a hybrid, with people meeting at Stonegate Country Club, 919 Lake Blvd. in Davis, and via Zoom Webinar. Come around 7 p.m. to check out the various outings, ask about the club, or try your luck at the monthly raffle. If you’re interested in learning to fly fish come to the meeting and ask anyone about our introductory and intermediate Fly Fishing courses.
