Lodge and Spa at Brush Creek Ranch

Located in remote south central Wyoming, this all-inclusive ranch looks right out of a Frederic Remington painting. Simeone Deary Design Group and RMT Architects transformed once dilapidated barns into cowboy-chic accommodations, with touches like fur throws, antler chandeliers, and cowhide chairs. Stay at its main Lodge and Spa or at its Relais & Châteaux Magee Homestead with nine log cabins. Foodies love its stone and brick Farm, housing the Cheyenne Club, with a cosy whiskey bar and restaurant. At the adjacent Creamery a herd of goats provides artisanal cheese and ice cream. Ride horses, fish in a private enclave, or book a massage inside a teepee.

The Ranch at Rock Creek

Originally a 19th-century homestead, this Relais & Châteaux resort spreads over 6,600 secluded acres of rolling meadows, woodlands, mountain ridges, and water frontage. Choose among the nine room Granite Lodge, 10 hybrid glamping cabins with gas stoves and modern bathrooms, or nine log houses. Interiors are all different, though each features western textiles, frontier antiques, and Cuddledown high thread count linens. Watch professional cowboys ride broncos or steers at its Camp Roosevelt Arena, learn to fly fish on its Blue Ribbon trout stream, or relax with a CBD oil massage at its spa. Dining focuses on seasonal local sourcing, like a bison rib roast from a local ranch.

Triple Creek Ranch

A Relais & Châteaux all-inclusive, this adult-only and working ranch sits on 30,000 acres in the Bitterroot Mountains of western Montana. The spirit of the Old West is alive in the interiors of its 25 deluxe log cabins with exposed log walls, original western art, wood burning fireplaces, slate bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries, and hot tubs. Fill your days with horseback rides, fly-fishing, hiking, archery, or learn hatchet throwing. You’ll see elk and other wildlife on a guided four-wheel scenic drive. Or sharpen your phone or camera skills on a photo safari.

Taylor River Lodge

Get off the grid at this hideaway, a blend of Old Western charm and modern comforts, just a short drive from Crested Butte, Colorado. A main lodge with a fireplace and leather furnishings offers communal dining of seasonal food and a bar where you want to order a blackberry old fashioned. There are six cozy log cabins and two spacious homes with rustic refinements like Moroccan rugs, rocking chairs, and antler framed mirrors. Immerse yourself in guided adventures like angling, mountain biking, rock climbing, rafting, and BB-gun shooting. In the evening gather around the firepit for s’mores and watching a spectacle of stars above.

Dunton River Camp

This Colorado chic camp-hotel, set on a 19th-century former cattle ranch in southwestern Colorado, is a magical place. There’s a restored 19th-century farmhouse, where meals are served, and eight contemporary tents. Interiors are understated glam with king beds, gas stoves, baths, and vintage finds. A panorama of peaks surrounds you. It’s the sibling to Dunton Hot Springs—a former 1800s ghost town transformed into a Relais & Châteaux luxury rustic retreat—and Camp guests have access to its outdoor springs and bath house.
