Edens Named VP Of Professional Development For Morning Pointe Senior Living

Morning Pointe Senior Living has appointed Scott Edens as its new vice president of professional development. In this role, Mr. Edens will support the company’s initiatives and culture in human resources, life enrichment and food services.

Mr. Edens most recently served as president of Potentia Living, a senior living organization focused on senior vitality. He also served as principal of Edens Group, LLC, a leadership/executive coaching, speaking and consulting firm. He is a certified professional coach trained at the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching.

In addition, Mr. Edens’ career has included serving as a regional vice president of a nonprofit health care company (Ethica Health). He has also run retirement, independent and assisted living communities in Alabama.

“I am really excited to be here,” said Mr. Edens. “What drew me to Morning Pointe was the reputation in the community and the longevity of serving seniors.”

Mr. Edens earned a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of St. Francis. He earned his bachelor’s degree in long-term health care administration from Southern Adventist University and won the 1991 Forrest L. Preston Award for Outstanding Achievement. He is also the recipient of the Dale Carnegie Course Highest Award for Achievement.

“I’ve known Scott and his wife for close to 30 years,” said Franklin Farrow, co-founder and CEO of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “Morning Pointe is thrilled to benefit from his talent and many years of experience in the senior care industry.”

Mr. Edens and his wife, Barb, live in McDonald, Tn. They have two grown children. In his spare time, Mr. Edens enjoys spending time with his family and two Sheepadoodles, fly fishing and reading.
