Orlando Glenn Sheets was born on April 15, 1949, in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania, to Russell and Phyllis (Bush) Sheets.  He graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, New Jersey, and later earned his Industrial Engineering degree in West Haven, Connecticut.
In his earlier years, Orlando worked for Spinnerin Yarn Company in Hackensack, New Jersey.  He then went on to work for 3M Company, which took him to several locations including Freehold, New Jersey; Bristol, Pennsylvania; and Aberdeen, South Dakota where he ultimately retired in 2008.  Orlando, also held positions at Daktronics and helped build the ISO 14001 program.
Orlando held many interests throughout his life including reading all types of non-fiction books (sometimes including his grandchildren’s textbooks), watching all types of wildlife, and planting his beloved zinnias (over 1,000 seeds) each year in hopes of enticing hummingbirds to visit.  He was a man who took great pride in his lawn-if you were caught walking through the grass, you were going to hear about it!  Orlando also gained an affinity for several special foods that he particularly enjoyed such as roast beef sandwiches, Cheeto puffs, large McDonalds coffees with 20 or so sugars and 6 creams, angel food cake (but mostly the ginormous pile of whipped cream that came with it), and Red Lobster Clam Chowder – if you ever went to Sioux Falls for anything, you always picked up clam chowder for pap.
Orlando was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed fly fishing from the Adirondacks of New York to the Big Horn River in Montana.  He fished for salmon on Lake Ontario and Lake Michigan, participating in the Lake Michigan KD salmon tournament for the last 20 years.  Orlando was also a hunter, and hunted deer and elk in Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Idaho, as well as rabbit and quail in New Jersey.  Although he loved hunting and fishing, perhaps Orlando’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, grandchildren, and his great-granddaughter.  He especially enjoyed the time that he was able to spend watching them participate in countless wrestling, soccer, track, cheer, football, and cross country events.
Orlando is survived by his wife, Theresa Sheets, of Volga; two children: Glenn (Tina) Sheets of Volga, and Bryan (Becky) Sheets, of Volga; eight grandchildren: Tanner (Alyssa), Jade, Parker, Kylie, Olivia, Russell, Jordyn, and Xander; one great-granddaughter, Cecelia Sheets; three nephews: Jerry Lawson, Scott Sheets, and Josh Devitis; six nieces: Patty Perrine, Liz Chermark, Sandra Crapser, Dody Kunkle, Billie Yatta, and Jessie Chandler; and his sister, Charlann (Rick) Monica.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Phyllis and Russell Sheets; brothers: Randy Sheets and Russell Sheets II; and brother-in-law, Jerome Lawson and his wife, JoAnn.
