Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, may soon move to Idaho to escape the pressures of Hollywood.
As I wrote for the Deseret News, there are reports that Loughlin and Giannulli want to leave California to work on their marriage.
- “Lori loves hiking, skiing and the outdoors. Taking long hikes calms her and she looks forward to her hikes daily,” a source told Us Weekly magazine.
- Giannulli “also loves the outdoors and especially the snowboarding and skiing that Idaho has to offer,” the same source told Us Weekly magazine.
This may sound surprising to many since Idaho is a pretty empty state aside from a few hot spots like Boise and my favorite location, Rexburg. But, in recent years, Idaho has been deemed the “New North Hollywood.”
In fact, according to TMZ, celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Henry “The Fonz” Winkler and Harry Styles all spent time in Idaho to get away from the glitz and glamor of California.
“Harry Styles took in a round of golf in the great outdoors of Idaho, or as it’s now known … New North Hollywood,” TMZ once wrote.
So where do celebrities live? According to The Idaho Statesmen, some of the popular spots for celebrities include:
Snake River
Snake River might be a place where Loughlin goes to start off her Idaho experience. After all, Winkler spent some time fly fishing there in June 2018, according to The Idaho Statesman. So there’s some precedent for celebrity hangouts.
Lake Coeur d’Alene
This is a popular spot for celebrities. Kim Kardashian went wake surfing there. And apparently, Shaquille O’Neal hosted some parties there in the past, too, per The Idaho Statesman. Of course, with so much focus, it might not be an ideal location for Loughlin to escape with her husband.
Sun Valley
I’ll leave it to the Idaho Statesman to explain this one: “Sun Valley has long been a playground for the rich and famous, including Ernest Hemingway, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Kennedys. Actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore raised their three daughters in nearby Hailey.”
McCall
We know that Loughlin and her husband planned to move to somewhere that has some skiing. McCall — a town outside of Boise — might be the answer. According to The Wall Street Journal, the former logging town has become “a skip spot without the glitz.” It offers a similar lifestyle as Sun Valley without the traffic and spotlight.
