The Buena Vista Public Library’s youth, teen, and adult programs will continue in March, with art programs, reading practice, and discussion sessions. More information can be found on the library’s website, as can registration links.

Youth Programs

Art for Kids!
Date: Every Tuesday, except March 22
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Audience: Ages 4 to 6
Paint, cut, collage, and create! Wear your get-messy clothes. This special ten-week art class series builds kids’ fine motor skills and expression through tactical and creative projects. The class will be limited to 20 people, including adults.

Animal Crackers
Date: Every Wednesday, except March 23
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Audience: Ages 2 to 5
The Salida Circus leads this movement program to help kids build gross motor, fine motor, and social-emotional skills.

Reading to Rover
Date: Every Wednesday, except March 23
Time: 3:30 p.m.
Audience: All Ages
Reading to dogs can boost reading skills in children while also supporting social and emotional skills. Any reading level or age is welcome. To sign up, please call: 719-395-8700

Wiggles & Giggles
Date: Every Thursday
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Audience: 0-5 years old
Unstructured, free play and socialization for littles and caregivers.

Alphabet Story Time
Date: Every Friday (except First Fridays)
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Audience: Ages 2 to 5, siblings welcome
Each week we focus on one letter with stories and a craft to learn our alphabet, building a personal letter book to take home.

Music for Kids!
Date: Every Friday except March 25
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Audience: Age 4 to 6 years old
A special series to get kids clapping, singing, and stomping their feet! Our talented instructor, Lynette Clemons, of Ruby Lucille’s Music Box, will use instruments and songs to engage and support growing kids.

K2 Take & Make

Audience: K-2nd grade

MASTERS Take & Make

Learn from fun and simple online coding tutorials, build community through activities, and develop skills to build animations, games, apps, and more!

Internet Basics

Learn the basics of the Internet, including how to search and navigate to find results. Get one-on-one help in this small group instruction class.

Fly Tying 101 (Part 1 & Part 2)

Learn the art of fly tying through two intensive Saturday workshops. Take a deep dive into the skills and knowledge of fly fishing and learn to tie flies by hand.
