Kurt was born on June 21, 1955, in Amarillo, Texas to Glen and Le Etta Gruver. He proudly served his country in the US Army serving at the DMZ in Korea. A person of strong faith, he was a lifetime member of the Disciples of Christ; serving as Deacon and Elder at churches in Amarillo Texas, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Belton, Texas. Kurt enjoyed riding his Harley, being Santa Claus for many years, and fly fishing. Kurt had a heart “bigger than Texas” and “he never met a stranger.” His friends were from all walks of life. He was a man of integrity and quiet patience. He was a craftsman who enjoyed building things; gracing family and friends with his unique creations. Most of all, Kurt will be remembered always putting God and his family first.
