With little to no cell service, no Wi-Fi and no TVs, you’ll be fully present to enjoy every moment and the surrounding scenery. This all-season mountain escape has plenty of activities, whether there’s a fresh layer of snow on the ground or the sun is shining in the middle of summer. Take your pick from snowshoeing, downhill skiing, hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking and paddleboarding.

Whether you’re in need of a couple’s getaway, a family vacation or something in between, there’s accommodations that will suit your needs. Cabins and cottages sleep up to four people, while the Hope Valley House can lodge nine people. Wylder Hope Valley Tahoe

Wake up surrounded by trees each morning, and walk down to get a complimentary coffee or tea to begin each day. Maybe you’ll want to take a brisk hike on the property or sit by the outdoor fire pit in peace. If you are traveling with little ones, be sure to have them check out the on-site mini pond filled with fish. And at night, don’t forget to look up, as the view of the stars is immaculate.

Something that is not to be missed is a private, complimentary wood-fired sauna experience on the property. Recently restored and located in a quaint cabin, the sauna gets up to 200 degrees and is paired with an ice-cold shower (with water straight from the well!). Alternate between the shower and sauna a few times within your session to fully rejuvenate. Wylder Hope Valley Tahoe

As far as dining goes, The General Store & Cafe is a one-stop shop where you can purchase a slice of fresh pie, a bottle of wine, a pack of cards and some cozy Wylder Hope Valley merch. Sorensen’s Cafe, the on-site restaurant, has been around for generations, serving wholesome and comforting breakfast, lunch and dinner options. There’s often live music out on the wooden deck and other special happenings during holidays.

If you’re venturing away from the resort, drive about 20 minutes to South Lake Tahoe or head down to the charming town of Markleeville. Grab a beer at Cutthroat Brewing Company before having a decadent dinner at Stonefly. Between beautiful drives, eateries and activities, there is plenty to explore.  Wylder Hope Valley Tahoe

While the drive from Southern California takes around eight hours (and around three from the San Francisco area), it’s well worth the trek. Extend your trip by staying one night in Mammoth before heading north to Hope Valley; from Mammoth, it’s about a two-hour drive to your final destination. If you’re traveling from Los Angeles, consider taking a camper van from Travellers Autobarn to make the most out of the trip and stop as you please. Once you arrive in Wylder Hope Valley, two to three nights is a perfect amount of time there to fully disconnect and recharge in the picturesque mountains. Wylder Hope Valley Tahoe
