Monofilament thread is remarkably thing and strong, and it allows the colors of other materials to show through. However, mono thread can be tough to work with because it is so slippery. Here, Tim explains when that slipperiness is actually an advantage and shows several saltwater patterns that really show off the material’s usefulness. If you tie saltwater patterns such as Bob Popovics’s Surf Candy, you’ll need to get used to tying with monofilament.
