The color blue is a favorite among winter anglers, and this cool streamer looks made for icy waters. In this week’s video from Tightline Productions, Tim shows you how to tie a simple streamer, which can be tied in any color combination to match the forage or the season. Hook: 2X-heavy, 4X-long streamer hook (here a Mustad 9672), sizes 4-8.
Head: Black tungsten cone, large.
Weight: Lead-free round wire, .020.
Adhesive #1: Superglue.
Thread: Black, 6/0 or 140-denier.
Tail: Kingfisher blue arctic-fox fur.
Body/wing: Steelie blue, Pearl, and Silver Ice Dub, mixed.
Adhesive #2: Head cement (here, Sally Hansen Hard-As-Nails).
Tools: Bodkin, chip clip, dubbing wax, dubbing whirl, plunger-style hackle pliers, toothbrush, and whip-finish tool.
