Toys for Children campaign underway in West Deer

West Deer Police Department is sponsoring its 25th annual Toys for Children drive to benefit children age infant to 14 who in low-income households in the Deer Lakes School District.

New toys can be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 8 at the police department and municipal building lobbies, 109 East Union Road. Members of Cub Scout Pack 965 dropped off bags at homes in the township and will return Saturday to collect donations.

Checks made out to West Deer Police Special Programs, can be sent to 109 East Union Road, Cheswick PA 15024. Money will be used to purchase additional toys, winter clothing and wrapping paper supplies.

Donations sought for annual Vandergrift Feed the Families project

Vandergrift Police Department is conducting its Feed the Families Project through Monday.

Non-perishable food items and monetary contributions will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday at the borough building, 109 Grant Ave., in care of Officer Gray. Families in need can send an email to Officer Gray at gray@vandergriftpolice.com.


Salvation Army free lunch distribution offered Thursday

The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave. Everyone is welcome.
