Soundings Trade Only named Joe Healy staff editor. Healy brings decades of print publishing and communications experience to the role. He was an editor with Outdoor Life; served as vice president and editorial director of American Angler, Fly Tyer and Saltwater Fly Fishing; and held leadership roles with Vermont and Saratoga Living.
“In the short time he’s been with us, Joe has quickly proven to be a valuable addition to the team,” said Soundings Trade Only editor-in-chief Jeff Moser. “It was a pleasure to welcome him back to the marine industry, and we fully expect that he’ll continue to contribute first-rate reportage to Trade’s daily e-news and monthly magazine.”
Most recently, Healy edited an international sporting-lifestyle magazine. He has worked as a marketing-and-communications professional and freelance book editor and writer throughout his career.
“I’m confident that Joe will be an excellent asset to the Trade Only team,” said Bill Sisson, editorial director of Active Interest Media’s Marine Group, which includes Soundings Trade Only. “Jeff and his team will benefit with his rich and varied background as a writer and editor.”
Healy is the author and editor of several books, including In Hemingway’s Meadow for Fly Rod & Reel Books; and The Pocket Guide to Fishing Knots, When Bears Attack and Unspeakable Horror from Skyhorse Publishing.
“I’m excited to join the AIM Marine Group and the larger marine industry, with which I was involved through Saltwater Fly Fishing magazine when I helped to demonstrate fly casting and fly tying at the Miami boat show and other consumer shows,” Healy said. “I grew up on a lake and have been a boater my entire life.”
