Robert Fred Dube, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Jefferson Health Care.
Robert was born on February 25, 1944, in Conneaut, Ohio the son of Fred Leroy and Elizabeth Regina (nee Orsag) Dube. He graduated from St. John High School Class of 1962 and would attend Kent State University for a short time.
Bob married the love of his life, Linda Snitcher on April 8, 1967, recently celebrating 54 years of marriage. He was a 42-year employee of Reliance Electric, retiring as foreman and supervisor. For 20 years, Bob and Linda lived in Georgia before returning to Jefferson in 2018. He was a faithful Catholic, attending St. Joseph Church in Ashtabula and Jefferson. An avid outdoorsman, Bob belonged to the Ashtabula Rod and Gun Club, and enjoyed targeting shooting. In addition, he enjoyed fly fishing, spending time in the nature, and watching animals. Bob was an excellent wood worker and enjoyed making bird houses and other memorable items for his family and friends. He also loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dube; children, Jacqueline (Robert) Maple, Roberta Ashcraft and Timothy (Christie) Dube; grandchildren, Derek (Amanda) Maple, Maxwell Ashcraft, Meghan Ashley Maple, Alexander Maple (fiancé, Michaela C. Elmore), Thomas Ashcraft, Hannah Aanstoos and Melanie Aanstoos; great-grandchildren, Weston and Colton Maple; brother, Dick (Linda) Dube; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Barb Snitcher; and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Jim Ward.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3312 Lake Ave., Ashtabula with Fr. Matthew Zwilling, presiding. Calling hours will be held on Friday at the church from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve-Ashtabula, 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula 44004.
