Bob was born July 23, 1937 at Everett General Hospital to Robert and Edith Ackerman. He died November 21, 2021 at Everett Providence Hospital. Bob attended Everett schools graduating from Everett High School in 1955. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1959 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and obtained his Professional Engineering License in 1964. Bob loved playing the trumpet and was a professional musician in dance bands for about 10 years. He met the love of his life, Pat (Stuart), in 1956 at Kayak Point and they were married June 28, 1958. They had three children: Vincent, Mary and Martha.

Hobbies that Bob enjoyed with family and friends included fly fishing and hunting at their property in Twisp, boating in the San Juan and Gulf Islands, and backpacking in the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. Being a private pilot was one of his passions – he and Pat would often fly to Friday Harbor for a “$100 hamburger!” Bob also flew the company plane for Nicholson Mfg. where he was chief engineer for 20 of his 35 years with the company. He traveled worldwide for Nicholson helping install heavy lumber equipment (log debarkers, chippers, etc.) and troubleshooting problems.

Avid travelers, Bob and Pat enjoyed trips to Europe, the South Pacific and Mexico. They spent many vacations at their condo at LaJolla in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. In 2014 they remodeled the family home at Priest Point on the Tulalip reservation in Marysville, WA and enjoyed living among the eagles, herons, whales and yes even the bossy old seagulls.

Bob is survived by Pat, his wife of 63 years, his daughters Mary (Fernando) Burton of Renton, Wa and Martha (Jim) Consolo of Tigard, Oregon, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons and soon to be born in 2022 a great grandson and a great granddaughter. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith Ackerman; in-laws Jim and Virginia Stuart; and his beloved son, Vincent. He will rest at Marysville Cemetery next to his son and parents.
