Rev. Lawrence H. Craig, age 72 of Strongsville, passed away October 14, 2020. Beloved husband of 51 years to Christina (nee Ricottilli); loving father of Sean (Nicole) and Heather (Joel) Fabrey; cherished grandfather of Erica and Megan Craig, Kyler and Ryan Fabrey; dear brother of Denny (Bev) and Geoff (Sylvia); adored uncle of many. Larry was born and raised in Youngstown. He attended the Ohio State University, Youngstown State University, and Bangor Theological Seminary. He married Christina Ricottilli on August 30, 1969 and they had 2 amazing children. Rev. Craig was ordained in 1974 and was a delegate to General Synods of the United Church of Christ and served on the Directorate of the office for Church Life and Leadership of the United Church of Christ at the national level. He served as a Chaplain at Fairview Hospital for 11 years. He served in many parishes in OH and PA and then retired from the West Park United Church of Christ, where he served from 1998-2011. After retiring, he was honored with the title of Pastor Emeritus. During his 45-year parish ministry career, he achieved an Ohio Nursing Home Administrators License. He also served on numerous Ohio and Penn West conference and association committees and numerous secular and ecumenical organizations. As a published writer, he has contributed to 2 funeral sermon books and contributed to “The Journal of Worship Resources” and wrote “Surviving in a Cordless World.” Larry and Christina loved to travel. They have taken many church groups on international trips. He enjoyed fly fishing in the Rocky River and hunting in WV. He was an avid reader, outdoors enthusiast, and gardener. The family suggests that donations may be made to West Park United Church of Christ, 3909 Rocky River Dr. Cleveland, OH 44111. The Memorial Service will be announced on a later date.
