Peter Michael “Pete” Sartoris, 60
SOLSBERRY — Peter Michael “Pete” Sartoris, 60, of Solsberry, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital with his loving wife by his side.
Pete was born in Troy, Illinois on April 2, 1960 to James and Agnes (Ashman) Sartoris. He graduated from Indiana University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University. Pete was a Certified Professional Geologist and worked for 36 years for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources as the Assistant Director of Compliance, Technical Services, and Permitting.
Pete married Rashul Joan Brosman on October 19, 2007 in Spencer, Indiana. He loved his wife and family, his lovely home and farm, and took immense pride in being an environmentally friendly steward of the land and wildlife. He especially enjoyed whitetail deer and turkey hunting as well as trout and fly fishing.
Pete is survived by his wife, Rashul, of Solsberry, IN; his daughter, Olivia M. (Brodie) Mitchell of Clinton, IN; two sisters, Jeanette (Anthony) Kestler of Charlotte, NC and Cheryl (John) Coffey of Troy, IL; two brothers, James (Donna) Sartoris of Holiday Island, AR and Robert (Martha) Sartoris of Saint Cloud, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his parents. He will be loved and deeply missed by family and friends alike.
For everyone’s safety, there are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation Rites have been accorded. In lieu of flower memorial contribution may be made to the charity of your choice.
