On combines its patented shoe design with South2 West8’s signature style to create a black and evergreen running shoe with geometrical print and On’s CloudTec technology. The tech models itself after cloud-like structures to create a shoe sole that is adaptable and supportive.
On, a Swiss brand founded by three retired runners, makes shoes worn by a Herculean roster of athletes, from Olympic triathlete Nicola Spirig to Ironman Champ Frederik Van Leirde. South2 West8 focuses on creating fashionable yet functional pieces for outdoor sporting activities. Owned by Nepenthes, the Japanese brand finds inspiration through the traditional fly-fishing sport. With their sportswear expertise, the two brands have set out to attract running enthusiasts of all terrains.
The two sportswear labels have solidified their presence in the fashion space, with South2 West8 teaming up with Reebok earlier this month and On seeing a recent spike in recognition as well. Backed by multiple celebrity endorsements including an investment from Roger Federer, On is also coming off of a collaboration with Loewe from earlier this year.
