Norman J. “Norm” Peppler, 87, Prudenville, died Jan. 4, 2022, at Crawford Continuing Care Center, with his family by his side.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org. Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, handled arrangements.
He was born June 6, 1934, in Flint, to John “Earl” and Goldie (Cannan) Peppler. He and Beverly Mulanix were united in marriage June 27, 1953, in Flint. He and his wife moved to Houghton Lake in 1977 from Flint.
Mr. Peppler owned and operated Grayling Floor Covering and later started Houghton Lake Floor & Tile. He was a former member of the Houghton-Higgins Lake Elks and Houghton Lake Lions. He enjoyed woodworking and made several beautiful pieces of furniture. He also enjoyed building train sets and going fly fishing.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Arlene Harper and Joyce Lovejoy; and brother, Jack Peppler.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Beverly Peppler of Prudenville; daughters, Debra (John) Moffatt of Fenton and Diane (Don) Collins of Maple Valley; son, Michael (Mary) Peppler of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
