A Yorkshire fly fishing business has relocated to new premises.
Barbless Flies has taken a three-year lease on The Cart Shed, a shop and office on The Dawnay Estates at Wykeham, near Scarborough.
The online business has been selling barbless fishing flies to anglers worldwide from a small office since it was established by Richard Fieldhouse in 2012.
Following a rise in orders, it has outgrown its former premises.
Fieldhouse said: “The wonderful thing about The Dawnay Estates, and the reason we’re so excited to be associated with them, is that it puts us right in the middle of the rivers on the North York Moors. As we specialise in river flies, it is the perfect location for us.
“But we’re not a traditional tackle shop, we’re more of a showroom and information hub. Anglers will be able come in and say ‘I’m fishing a local river next week, what flies should I be using?’ and we’ll be able to advise them on every aspect of their approach, and hopefully, tip the scales in their favour of a fantastic fishing experience.”
David Steel, chief executive at Dawnay Estates, added: “The Dawnay Estates offers some truly spectacular field sports across the Estates at Wykeham and Danby so partnering with Barbless Flies is a really good fit for us.
“Richard has a tremendous passion for, and knowledge of, fly-fishing so he will be a fantastic asset for The Estate and everyone who comes here to visit their shop.”
