It is with great sadness that the family of Michael James Rowley announce the passing of their beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather on November 12, 2022, at the age of 55. Michael passed from complications associated with Crohn’s Disease and Ankylosing Spondylitis. He was born to Kathleen Messerli who preceded him in death, and Rand Leo Rowley on September 28, 1967, in Milford, Utah. Michael was the oldest of 4 siblings. He had 3 sisters: Teri King Orr, Carrie and Anna Rowley.

When anyone would call him “Mike” he would always respond by saying, “chael” as his stepfather was Mike. His family moved to Pocatello, Idaho at the age of 2 years old where he attended school and later joined the United States Navy. He was stationed abroad in the Philippines and Japan. Upon returning home Michael met Kathryn Sluznis whom he eloped to Elko, Nevada with on July 25, 1987. Together they had 4 sons: Christian Michael, Corey James, Chance Edward and Colton Rand and 2 grandsons Connor James and Grayson Edward. Michael loved his boys dearly and could always be found with his fellow “phins fans” in the living room on game day. Michael was an avid Miami Dolphins fan from the age of 5 years old and still owned a beat-up metal garbage can with their logo in which he received around the same age.

Michael was a smart, funny and sarcastic individual who easily charmed all those around him. He loved all sports but was particularly fond of football and golf. He found his stress relief in the great outdoors camping and sitting around the fire with his family and friends or on the lake fly fishing with his boys. He loved attending all his sons’ sporting events. And believe me there were a lot of them! He was a dedicated father and provider for his family. Besides leaving behind his wife, children and grandchildren he leaves behind his furry companion, a Rottweiler named Gunner. Services for Michael was held December 2 at Mountain Vista Chapel at 1:00p.m.
