He was born Sept. 27, 1944. Michael proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Temple-Inland Paper & Packaging Corp. after more than 28 years as a supervisor. He was a dedicated worker and enjoyed his job and the people he worked with.
Michael loved fishing, especially fishing for trout and fly-fishing. He always looked forward to hunting season and spending that special time with his sons. He also enjoyed the yearly camping trip to Montauk State Park every October. Family was very important to Michael, and he loved spending time with his grandkids. Michael was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Michael was the loving husband of the late Beverly Hoerchler; beloved son of the late Vincent and Ruth Hoerchler; devoted father of Brian (Karen) Hoerchler, Scott (Amy) Hoerchler and Melissa (Rocky) Groves; cherished grandfather of Patrick Hoerchler, Nicholas Hoerchler, Jenna Hoerchler, Stephen Hoerchler, Kylie Groves, Chloe Hoerchler and Lily Groves; and dearest brother of Carolyn (the late Fred) Cashion, Ralph Hoerchler and William (Mary) Hoerchler. Michael also was preceded in death by his infant brother, Robert Hoerchler.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Baue Funeral Home, 3950 W. Clay St., St. Charles, MO 63301.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo, 601 N. Fourth St., St. Charles, MO 63301.
Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
