Today’s Master Class Monday video by Dave and Amelia Jensen is the seventh installment in an 11-part series on how to read trout water. Here, Dave explains how to fish tailouts–those shallow, slow stretches at the bottom of a pool or before a change in river features. Trout will risk being exposed in such shallow water if there’s food to be had, usually in the form of a hatch, spinner fall, or terrestrials. Knowing where to look and how to target these fish will increase your chances of success.
