MOORESVILLE
John S. Brown, 67, of Mooresville, IN, passed away Tuesday evening, July 12, 2022, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
John was born on April 26, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN to Lillian M. Burris and John S. Brown. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Suzanne N. (Blaser) Brown, in 2017 as well as his mother Lillian Burris. John is survived by his daughters Allison Brown and Sarah (Drew) Berman, sister Maleta Altman, and countless extended family members. A proud alum of Ben Davis High School, he is also survived by many lifelong friends and brothers within the Grand Lodge of Indiana, including members of Indiana Freemasons Mooresville #78 and the Murat Highlanders of Indianapolis, of which he was an active member.
John will be remembered as an active, enthusiastic, and generous member of the Central Indiana Freemason community, where he worked endlessly to fundraise for the Shriners Childrens’ Hospitals network through bagpiping in countless parades and the annual Murat Shrine Circus. When he was not up to his elbows in hard work with his plumbing and HVAC business, John devoted himself to countless hobbies, including but not limited to fly fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with dear friends, exploring the Boundary Waters, boating on Lake Monroe, and collecting antique woodworking tools.
A visitation will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W Main St, Greenwood, IN 46142 on Tuesday July 19, 2022, from 4-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 20, 2022 at 11 am. He will be laid to rest with his wife immediately following the service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Monrovia, IN.
