For many people the past year has provided an unexpected opportunity to re-discover some of the simple pleasures in life – and Adam Woodyatt is no exception.
The EastEnders’ actor has shared his favourite back-to-basics hobby in an Instagram post, and fans can’t get enough of the ‘raw simplicity’.
Last week Adam, aka Ian Beale, shared a photo of himself kicking back by a beautiful lake at sunset, which someone thought looked ‘like Lake Garda’ in Italy.
In the point-of-view photo, a glorious golden sun could be seen setting in the distance as Adam brandished his fishing rod proudly over the water.
He later revealed the stunning location of the photo to be a reservoir in Lancashire.

“Brilliant day of fly fishing with an old friend,” said Adam, adding: “Sunset weren’t too shabby either.”
Adam’s followers were entranced by the photo of his back-to-basics hobby.
“It really does all come down to raw simplicity,” said one person.
“If the weird world has taught us anything, it is to revel in the natural gorgeousness around us,” someone else agreed.
“Wow,” added another person, who thought Adam’s evening activity looked “so peaceful and relaxing.”
Instagram couldn’t get enough of the scenery, which was variously described as ‘gorgeous’, ‘dreamy’ and ‘beautiful’.
“Now, that’s a sunset! Just breathtaking!” one person said, as another added that the photo looked like ‘Lake Garda’, while someone else thought it ‘would make the Countryfile calendar’.

Some of Adam’s followers jumped to ask the obvious question – was anything biting?
“Catch anything for Beale’s Plaice?” joked one EastEnders fan.
Adam confirmed that, sadly, he hadn’t caught a fish on this occasion – but frankly, with that view, who cares?
