David Anthony Dworzak, 71, died on December 26, 2022, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, after a brief illness.
David was born on November 15, 1951, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to the late Frank and Ann Dworzak and was the youngest of their five children. He graduated from Lenihan High School in 1969– where he was a member of the varsity golf team — as well as the University of Iowa in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History. He also received a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Iowa in 1976. David’s career primarily focused within the utility industry having worked for the Iowa State Commerce Commission followed by Carolina Power and Light in Raleigh, North Carolina. For the last 28 years of his career, David worked at Edison Electric Institute in Washington, D.C. as Director of Reliability Policy. In retirement, he served as a consultant to Valley Forge Energy Advisors.
David was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in West Chester where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Washington Nationals and an accomplished golfer, having played in the Junior College National Championship. David was a life-long learner and had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed wine, food and cooking, gardening, literature, yoga, multiple genres of music (especially jazz) and fly fishing with friends and family. He even learned French and Spanish to facilitate his international travels.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ann Dworzak, brother Marvin F. Dworzak and his wife Nancy, nephew Tom Vieltorf and niece Lori Vieltorf.
He is survived by his siblings Mary Jane Vieltorf (Paul), of Akron, OH, Betty Donovan (Mike), of Louisville, KY and James Dworzak, of Marshalltown, IA. David is also survived by his nieces Lisa Vieltorf Zuder, Jody Dworzak and Katie Donovan Melkonian; nephews Steve Vieltorf, John Dworzak and Pat Donovan.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 9:30 am – 10:00 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 East Pleasant Grove Rd, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Abbey in Berryville, VA.
