Benefit yard sale

A yard sale will be held starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Econo Lodge, 1290 S. Main St., Woodstock.

Moving sale, household items, children’s toys, dollar items, men and women’s clothes, jewelry. Benefits First Baptist Church and Friends Relay Team. Rain date is June 11 at Walgreens in Woodstock.

Female chorus

Windsong, a new 18 and older all-female a cappella community chorus, holds rehearsals from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Monday at Opequon Presbyterian Church, 217 Opequon Church Lane, Winchester. Library adult programs

Samuels Public Library in Front Royal will hold the following programs for adults this month:

• The summer reading program begins Monday through Aug. 13 with the theme Oceans of Possibilities. The program includes cool programs, movies and prizes.

• Tiny Art Gallery: small canvasses will be on display around the library. Kits, which include a tiny canvas and paints, will be at the adult reference desk. A workshop on making these art pieces will be held at 2 p.m. June 18.

• Computer Basics (in person): 2 p.m., Tuesday on using a Windows PC.

• Genealogy Club (hybrid, virtual and in person): 6 p.m. Wednesday.

• Adaptogenic Herbs (virtual): 6:30 p.m., Thursday with local herbalist Cadyn Speziale.

• Basics of tree identification (in person): 10 a.m., June 11, led by Mary Olien.

• Adult summer reading movie night (in person): 2 p.m., June 11 showing “The Princess Bride.”

• Bad Romance (virtual): 6 p.m., June 13.

• Books & Beyond: 10 a.m., June 15 featuring “The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller.

• Fishing on the Shenandoah River (in person): 10 a.m., June 25 led by Herschel Finch who will talk about the best fishing spots, fishing equipment and techniques, lures, river safety, and more. Participants will be able to practice fly fishing techniques with special training equipment and actual rods.

• Pen & Prose creative writing (hybrid, virtual and in-person): 3 p.m., June 25.

Trout Unlimited

The Winchester chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its monthly BarFly gathering at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Escutcheon Brewing in Winchester. The program will be on the Kreelex streamer. Information: Bill at 540-722-2620 or visit www.winchestertu.org.

Sunflower challenge

VECCA will host a Sunflower Challenge die-cut card-making class from 1 to 3 p.m. on June 12 at 123 S. Main St., Woodstock. Proceeds benefit Ukraine medical relief. The class will be led by Sharon Isralow.
