Rick and Nora Norden Bivens, of Morristown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 4, 2021.
They were wed September 4, 1971 at Clarks Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Maryville by the late Rev. L.G. Hutchens.
They have lived in Morristown for the past 33 years.
Their family includes son, Dwain Bivens; daughter, Caroline (Trevor) Snowden; and grandchildren, Olivia and Sutton Snowden.
Nora was born in Jackson, Tennessee and grew up in Maryville. She is a 1969 graduate of Everett High School and graduated from Fort Sanders School of Radiologic Technology. She was a radiologic technologist for more than 45 years and only recently retired from HealthStar Physicians in Morristown.
Rick was born in Maryville and graduated from Friendsville High School in 1967. Rick is a US Navy veteran; has BS and MS degrees from the University of Tennessee, and is retired from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency with 37 years of service as a fishery biologist.
Rick enjoys the outdoors and has enjoyed fly fishing for trout for most of his life. He also enjoys yard work. Nora enjoys reading and cooking. Both Rick and Nora enjoy spending time with their family and especially their grandchildren.
