It was a great weekend welcoming back LR Alumni from multiple sports for the annual LR Spring Football Game and surrounding festivities. On Friday, the 2nd Annual Gridiron Golf Classic presented by Frank Surface and the 4749 Club saw a large turnout to raise over $20,000 for the LR Football program. In addition, a “Heckle Hole” Fundraiser brought in over $1,200 for LR Alum Chris Deal’s fight against ALS. It was a fun afternoon out at Rock Barn with players, coaches, and alumni coming together to talk LR Football past, present, and future.
Later Friday evening, the Bears Club celebrated a record 440 raffle tickets being sold this spring, equating to $44,000 for LR Student-Athlete Scholarships. “The Bears Club reaching another record-setting milestone is once again a testimony of the hard work and dedication our bears club council, along with our coaches and staff, put in to make Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics best-in-class. We sincerely thank everyone who played a role in the success of this weekend’s festivities,” said Senior Associate AD Aaron Bessey.
