ADDISON “SKIP” B. JOHNSON JR., 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022. Born July 29, 1941, in Indianapolis, Ind., he was a son of the late Addison B. Johnson Sr. and Luana Johnson. Skip graduated from Speedway High School before attending college at Purdue and obtaining his Master’s degree in Forestry. He also served in the Army National Guard. Skip worked for the U.S. Forest Service in California; Owens – Illinois, in Orange, Texas, Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and then their corporate headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. He taught forestry at the University of Wisconsin – Steven Point and went on to retire from Leisure Lawn of Fort Wayne as the owner and manager. Skip was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Society of American Foresters, Indiana Lawn Care Association, served on the Allen County Cooperative Extension Service Board, and was also an Eagle Scout. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fly fishing, traveling, road trips, and climbing mountains. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marna “Susie” Johnson; children, Christopher David Johnson and Holly Anne (Andrew) Dailey; granddaughter, Piper Faye Dailey; and sister, Susan Alice Johnson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David T. Johnson and Thomas M. Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46825), with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with a Rosary at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Prayer Garden or St. Vincent’s Knights of Columbus. Burial will be held in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
