The fishing and diving scene between the Capes this month has been EPIC for those managing to get amongst it.
With the windy conditions aside, the guys and girls that have managed to get out on the water have all had their fill in a matter of 2 to 3 hours.
Some luckier ones have gone out to their favourite lumps and picked up good size pink and dhuies in their first drop.
One customer reported picking up a dhuie, then a baldy then another dhuie (two people on boat) within half an hour.
We have had an influx of new divers in the store lately and they are frothing about getting in the water and checking out the plentiful supply of dinner… Please only spear what you know you and your family will eat for dinner – don’t use fish as target practice and definitely only take what you need not what you want.

We are really excited to let you know that we have just had a major shipment of Vexed gear land at the shop and we now have the famous Bottom Meats, Naked Twin Octopus assists, Cray lords, Occy heads and a heap of gear for your next fishing trip.
The West coast has been producing along with the South.
On the busier days (weekends) we are finding that a lot of crew are heading out from Augusta due to ease of launch and retrieve.
Whiting has been in good numbers and size off the coast near the islands and a few reports have come through of 50cm King George whiting being caught in and around the beaches near Hamelin and Augusta.
Favourable conditions for the beach fishos have seen catches of good size tailor and a few rogue salmon.
Talking salmon – have you seen any schools whilst in and around the coast?
We have had two reports so far of small schools not too far off shore – but not anything to get too excited about yet.
If you are keen on salmon fishing and want to join in the fun and prizes of a salmon fishing competition – then head down to Hamelin Bay for the weekend on April 17-18th.
The competition is run by Damian Bowman and there will be prizes for kayak fishing, fly fishing, topwater, shore-based, juniors and more.

Diving in the South West this month has been great for those able to hit the water.
The water has been warm, the crays, ab’s and fish have been plentiful.
Ant picked up a Kingy recently after a large school swam right through where he was diving with a buddy.
After letting the fish tire itself out for about 20 mins he was unfortunate enough to have the fish give one final flick and the razor sharp spear shaft went in to his wrist.
Luckily it did not do any major damage and he is on the mend with just a very sore and very bruised arm.
