Welcome to the latest edition of the Orvis News Friday Fly-Fishing Film Festival, in which we scour the Web for the best fly-fishing videos available and then serve them up for you to enjoy. This week, we have fifteen killer productions, which will take you from a backyard river in Pennsylvania to a remote reservoir in South Africa, and from a river in Montana you may never heard of to the blitz-filled waters off Long Island.
As I’m sure you know, February is Black History Month. The first video this week focuses on Jahmicah Dawes. He and his wife, Heather, run Slim Pickins Outfitters, the first Black-owned outdoor outfitting shop in the country, in Stephenville, Texas. Jahmicah talks about the importance of representation in outdoors pursuits and why he hopes he can hand over the business to his bi-racial sons in the future. His story will leave you with plenty to think about.
For best results, watch all videos at full-screen and in high definition. Remember, we surf so you don’t have to. But if you do stumble upon something great that you think is worthy of inclusion in a future F5, please post it in the comments below, and we’ll take a look.
