In today’s video, I did something I’d only done once before: I floated the river alone. The weather was perfect, the river was empty, and the fish were willing. I floated a five-mile stretch and pulled over in a few spots to nymph up some trout. I talked to myself a lot, and had a great time. 10/10, would do again.

Some takeaways from this video are:

  1. Always wear your PFD.
  2. It’s not easy to row a boat and fish at the same time.
  3. Avoid redds and spawning fish.
  4. Give wading anglers as much room as you can.
  5. It’s ok to talk to yourself. It doesn’t make you a weirdo.
