When it comes to going on holidays, Australians really are spoiled for choice.

From the coast to the country, luxury and leisure – our own backyard is the perfect canvas to create memorable moments with family and friends.

As an ambassador for Tourism Australia, it’s no surprise that Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky try to get out and about across the country as much as possible with their young family.

Just last month, the pair – along with the Thor actor’s brother Liam – spent time kicking back in style during a visit to Lorde Howe Island off the coast of NSW.

The actor, along with his wife Elsa, their three children and even director pal Taika Waititi enjoyed all Lord Howe Island had to offer during their stay in the island’s newly completed luxury accommodation, dubbed the Island Lodge.

Now, as the Apple Isle opens borders to the entire country from today, Elsa has posted an insider glimpse of her time travelling Tasmania.

Sharing a number of photos on Instagram, the 44-year-old posted pictures showing herself, her children and friends enjoying the holiday.

From holding baby wombats, to fly fishing in a creek and even building driftwood bonfires by the lake, the holiday gave her followers a glimpse into the wholesome escape.

While Elsa’s children and their friends jumped on board a boat, the Fast And The Furious actress along with her girlfriends were able to enjoy a tasting of some local wines.

‘What an amazing trip. So lucky to discover new places with good friends,’ Elsa wrote in the captions alongside the images.

Tasmania opened its borders to NSW in early November, and started to allow Victorians back into the state without having to hotel quarantine from Friday, November 27, 2020.

It is understood about 700 Victorian travellers are expected to arrive in Tasmania today
