We recently relaunched the Orvis Fly Fishing Learning Center, featuring an all-new design. For the first 13 weeks, we will be adding a new chapter to the Learning Center each week. This week, it’s all about fly-fishing for trout on lakes and ponds. Since Tom considers this style of fishing one of his very few week spots, he called in a ringer–Canadian stillwater master Phil Rowley.

Here, Phil explains why you want to have some “balanced” fly patterns in your box and how you can fish them effectively. If you enjoyed this, there are 11 more video lessons in the Stillwater chapter!
