Fly fishermen have had an interesting time of it of late, especially at the Mzimkhulu river mouth.
Some of the local fly fishing club members fished at the mouth and then posted some pictures on social media of the kingfish they were catching.

They created some excitement by doing that.
The next morning a few more anglers decided they would have a try at catching these fish.
Duane Howell, regarded as something of a fly fishing guru and nicknamed Mountain Lake, hadn’t been there for 15 minutes when the anglers started chasing small fish right on the side.
He cast into the fish and saw one turn and grab the fly. It was a quick fight. After a photo the fish was safely released.
His fish was a greenspot kingfish, 60cm fork length. It had taken a grey and tan baitfish imitation.
A total of 15 fish were caught over the two days.
In other fishing news, garrick have been plentiful at Margate pier.
Hugo Botha caught what he called a ‘little’ garrick off the Sandspit in Port Shepstone.
Vasu Govender from Port Shepstone hauled in a 6.3kg brusher caught with sardine bait, also at Sandspit.
Kiara Govender, also from Port Shepstone enjoyed the challenge of reeling in a ragged tooth shark during a recent trip to the Transkei.
In general, the recent rains have made fishing slightly unpredictable, with only the more dedicated and fanatical going out into the rain and wind.
