The October caddis (genus Dicosmoecus) is one of the best fall hatches in many parts much of the country. And with most caddis hatches, you can catch a lot of trout by imitating the pupal stage, whenn the insects are most vulnerable. In this great video from Tightline Productions, Tim Flagler shows you how to create an attractive effective October Caddis Pupa. As usual,, he also demonstrates some killer tips that will make you a better tier. The ways he locks down the slippery Antron, cords the dubbing for segmentation, and snips the tip of the feather to make a tie-in anchor will be useful on many other patterns.
