Here’s a look at franchises involved in the pest control industry.

Founded in 1995, A All Animal Control says it is the second largest nuisance wildlife management company in North America and began franchising in 2000. Offices across the country offer wildlife services including removal, animal and pest control services, and wildlife damage repair. Some offices also provide handyman and Earth Savvy Pest Control services using products with the lowest environmental and mammal toxicity possible, the company says. Each office is individually owned and operated.

Backyard Bug Patrol was established in Great Falls, Virginia in 2010. The company offers mosquito control, tick control, perimeter/rodent control and organic pest control. The Backyard Bug Patrol franchise is a home-based business model.

Bedbug Chasers specializes in killing all stages of bed bugs. Vehicles are unmarked to protect customers’ privacy, the company adds. The company is also a global manufacturer of ISO 9001 certified heat remediation equipment. Bed bugs are its sole focus, and it treats the pest in commercial and residential settings, including airplanes and yachts. 

Black Diamond started serving the southern Indiana market in 1940 and currently has more than 135 service vehicles and 200 employees across branches. Its pilot franchise tripled revenue in the first year and the brand continues to grow, the firm says.

Critter Control

Founded in 1983 and part of Rollins Inc., Critter Control offers wildlife management solutions including animal removal, exclusion and damage repair. Locations handle large and small animals with a focus on vertebrate pests like squirrels, rats, mice, snakes, raccoons, bats and birds. The company serves homeowners, property management companies, industrial and commercial clients and municipalities. 

Locations: 100+ offices in every major U.S. market and in Canada

Founded in 1997, EnviroCare offers general pest control including managing ticks and mosquitoes, rodents, bats, ants and termites. The company began franchising in 2021.

This general pest control company also provides mosquito and tick services. Aside from property inspections and insect surveillance, clients receive a detailed Yard Report Card. FlyFoe markets its integrated pest control system and the fact that its products are friendly to pollinators, pets and people.

Founded in 2018, Germinator offers a combination of sanitizing, deodorizing, and disinfecting services and equipment. Franchise owners have a socially conscious mission to better customers’ lives by allowing them to live and work in a hygienic environment, the firm says. The company began franchising in 2020. 

GrassRoots is a family-owned operation that offers weed control, tree and shrub care, liquid aeration and mosquito control. It is growing through franchising with locations primarily in the Southeast.

Green Doctor has trained and licensed lawn care and pest control experts trained to diagnose and treat customers’ lawn and remove unwanted pests. The first location in Alabama opened in 2004 and the company began franchising in 2018.

Founded in 1967, Lawn Doctor 

Lawn Doctor offers lawn care, lawn pest control and annual programs including fertilization and weed control, mosquito control, tick control, and perimeter pest control. The company has been named an Entrepreneur magazine Franchise 50 every year for 40 years, including being ranked No. 1 Lawn Care Franchise.

While mosquito control is the basis of this franchise business, locations also can deliver tick control and general pest control services with its branded Barrier 360 Pest Control Treatment. The company was founded in 2002 and was a 2022 Gold Winner for Franchising@Work Employee Satisfaction by Franchise Business Review. Mosquito Authority provides customers with mosquito control without contracts.

Mosquito Hunters offers mosquito and tick services, and special event services to treat venues before guests arrive. The company uses all-natural products. Mosquito Hunters is an Entrepreneur Franchise 500 company.

Founded in 2010, Mosquito Joe provides mosquito control treatment services to residential and commercial customers. Each Mosquito Joe operation is an independently owned franchise. In addition to treating mosquitoes, franchise locations also can manage ticks, rodents, and other pests, as well as provide perimeter pest control services.

Founded in 2018, Mosquito Mary’s is a family-operated business that provides mosquito and tick control services to residential and commercial customers. Organic mosquito control is also available. Mosquito Mary’s concentrated blend of essential oils and plant extracts is designed to kill bugs on contact and repel future insects and the company says it prides itself on creating products that are safe for families, pets and the environment.

Founded in 2001, Mosquito Shield provides residential and commercial mosquito and tick services. The company developed a blend of all-natural oils and uses EPA-registered control products. Customers can select from flexible treatment schedules. In 2021 and 2022, the company received a Satisfaction Award from Franchise Business magazine.

Founded in 1979, PestMaster’s model was initially focused on three major areas of service: pest control, vegetation management and health related/vector control, all of which are still the foundation of the company today. Pestmaster Services was acquired by Threshold Brands in 2021. Threshold Brands is the multi-brand franchisor behind home service companies MaidPro, USA Insulation, Men in Kilts, FlyFoe, Sir Grout, Plumbing Paramedics and Heating + Air Paramedics.

For over 40 years, Spring-Green has been developing services tailored to the varying needs of the neighborhoods and communities it services across the country. Products and services include lawn fertilization and weed control. Additional Services including overseeding, core aeration, irrigation system maintenance, ornamental bed weed control, structural pest control, and perimeter pest control.

Superior Pest Defense is a full-service pest control company with a Better Business Bureau rating of A+. 

Additionally, Superior offers lawn care, mosquito control and irrigation services through its brands, Superior Lawn Care, Superior Mosquito and Superior Irrigation.

Founded in 1938, the late Truly Wheatfield Nolen started his pest control business in Miami Beach, Florida during the Great Depression. The business had roots in sanitation, which evolved into rodent and pest control. Everyone in the family, including his son Truly David Nolen, played his or her part to help the company service customers and be successful.
