Welcome to an all-new edition of the Orvis News Friday Fly-Fishing Film Festival, in which we scour the Web for the best fly-fishing videos available. This week, we serve up an even dozen films that will take you around the world, with an extra-salty flare. If you don’t know where Socotra is, you’ll be sure to check Google Maps after you watch that video. This collection of killer action and gorgeous landscapes should help everyone get excited for the weekend and our September Challenge.

For best results, watch all videos at full-screen and in high definition. Remember, we surf so you don’t have to. But if you do stumble upon something great that you think is worthy of inclusion in a future F5, please post it in the comments below, and we’ll take a look.

Western Slovenia is stunning, and the fish aren’t bad, either.

From tying the fly to catching the trout, in western Maryland.

Just a quick pike eat. That splash is what it’s all about.

Fly fishing for Marlin on the Pacific side of Baja. Whoa.

Fly fishing for carp gets the beauty treatment.

Just a cool collection of clips to feed the stoke for the weekend.

Ever heard of Socotra? Me, neither. But this island off Yemen looks awesome.

A little Oregon beauty reel.

Casting to redfish is often a short game . . . a REAL short game.

A jet-boat trip south of Calgary produces some fine trout.

Here’s another episode in this cool series about a 14-day sailing trip through the Caribbean searching for bonefish.
